My upstander, Annie Brassard, works for the East Meets West Parent Education Club. She stands for non-profit member. She helps the community, to make it better and happier. She educates adults and parents, and she also does role modeling. She works with diverse groups who are energetic, willing to connect to the community, and eager to learn, improve, or change. When I asked her: “Do you feel you can stand up for injustice? If so, why?”; she answered: “Yes, because we have the heart to help people, and it’s also helping ourselves.” This sentence inspired me deeply, and I learned that this is always true. This idea is always around me. She did have some challenges during her work time, though. For example, to help motivate her members, who are under a lot of depress because of Covid-19, is a challenge. And the more difficult part is, not everyone can be motivated.
